Week 15 – Final presentation and handoff

This week, we were focused on delivering our final presentation and completing the project. While creating our final slides, we thought about how to communicate the iteration and improvements we made on the game over the semester, and how we responded to various rounds of feedback. We wanted to showcase our strong playtesting and improvement on the product, as well as the design lessons we learned along the way.

We also finalized the game for handoff to our client Skip. We did a final pass editing the various ingame dialogue scripts based on Skip’s specifications, and also checked for any bugs. The game is a WebGL project, and the client will receive the project folder as well as access to an AWS account which has the latest build uploaded. We’re also currently working with the client to bind the website to their chosen domain name.

Once Skip receives the handoff, he will assess whether to use the project as-is or to have it developed further. We faced many challenges over the semester, such as managing the scope of various features and making sure the visuals came together in a consistent manner. Nonetheless, I think we put together a great product which meets the client’s educational goals while delivering fun management gameplay. This is the last blog from team FiPlay – thanks so much to our advisors and to everyone who gave us helpful feedback over the semester.
