Room Design
Reference Art:
This is a sampling of the reference art collected. The look and feel we were after is more of an eccentric cartoony appearance.
Facade Design:
We also considered the exterior of the space to transition the guests from the real world into Doc's world complete with a preshow on a video screen and a simple Door-Keyboard interaction.
Interior:
On the side, theatrical flats will transform the shape of the roughly 11'x12' room to accentuate the playful cartooniness of teh environment as well as visually move you further into Doc's world.
Room Construction
The room was initially built in the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and then moved to one of the office spaces within the Entertainment Technology Center of Carnegie Mellon. Below are pictures of the construction of Doc's lab.
