Week 6 – Feb 25, 2022

Introduction

This week we focused on preparing for our halves presentation for next week Monday. We have also begun assembling a bill of materials for the equipment needed to continue building out our project. We have also made plans with Assemble, a community space for art and technology in Pittsburgh, to playtest our project there on March 17th with one of their after school programs.

Halves Presentation

We have prepared a 15 minute presentation that showcases the work that we have done so far. Over the week we presented our work-in-progress presentation to faculty members John Dessler, Dave Culyba and Ricardo Washington. We were then able to iterate on our presentation based on their feedback. We divided the presentation into six sections, and each group member will cover one section

  • Introduction and overview (Max Cameron)
  • Color puzzle (Caitlyn Lenhoff)
  • Light strip (Wizard Hsu)
  • Color whiteboard (Ebrahim Karam)
  • Shadow puppet (Qin Zhang)
  • Takeaways and conclusion (Xiao Han)
Below shows some of our slides.

Below are 4 videos that we presented during 1/2 presentation. We captured the key moments of our playtests and our takeaways.

Meeting with client

On Friday our client, Lou Karas, visited the Entertainment Technology Center, along with Jason Koegler, the Vice President of External Affairs at West Liberty University, Kara Connersm, the External Affairs Coordinator, and Phil Carl, the Director of the Highlands Center. They came to our project room, and we had a chance to showcase our project.

We also presented our halves work to Lou Karas and Lisa Mcgee during our client meeting, where they provided us with some valuable feedback and suggestions to help strengthen our presentation. We also showed our Bill of Materials that we have been working on to them. It includes some equipment that we are interested in purchasing and using.
