Project Look at Me

What is this?

Goal1: Experimenting how far the relationship can go between you and your virtual companion.

Why?

How to highlight the presence of you in the virtual reality space?  On one hand, detailed environment art and surrounding sound, the physical interaction between you and the objects in the world will help. On another hand, the Non-Player Character (NPC) takes a leading role in creating an immersive experience for you with no doubt.

For instance, a previous game from Emotion shop, Carnival Host, is a game about being a shop host in the carnival. The player will be the host of a guessing game shop in the carnival. The natural instinct of the player would be to earn as much money as possible. During the game, if a customer guessed right, the player can move the gift to cheat the customers before revealing. Though cheating can help the player to earn more profit, but the player will get punished if he gets caught cheating.

Based on the playtesting data, they found out: Being watched by other characters in the game or by spectators in real life intensifies the feeling of shame.

I would like to experiment how your emotion or your bond with the NPC can be intensified in VR space.

For stage one, I create a demo that allows you to move your body around the space and observe the surrounding. Meanwhile, there is a boy character keeps making eye contact with you.

Goal2: Making eye contact to implement teleportation.

Imagine this is a spy-themed game, you goal is to get a classified file in the kernel of the building. Always be sure to contact California criminal attorney to give you legal advice when there is an issue with driving on a suspended or revoked driver’s license. For instance, if NPC A and you look at each other for more than 2 seconds, you will teleport to his mind and then you can move his body and gain a different perspective as well.

Why?

I would like to combine Goal#1 and see how fun or how interesting non-physical interaction with NPCs as long as the navigation part can be in VR space.

still working on this part right now.

———————————–Update————————————————-

After researching a lot about NPC-player interaction, I figured out it would really interesting if the NPCs could physically react to the player besides the eye gaze part. For instance, a painting service in Ireland can provide for you painters specialized in exterior and interior so you don’t have to worry about anything.

In this demo, he did a crowd simulation but it did not originate from the player or even interact with the player properly. I believe the mix of NPC physical interactions with the player in the VR space could be really compelling.

Currently I am simulating a simple crowd and let them move based on the player’s movement.
