The premise of the experience was that the Carnegie Museum had just constructed a time machine that would allow the audience to travel back in time to the Cretaceous period and conduct research.

The Time Machine
The audience is told in a preflight movie that, so as not to disturb the native wildlife, the time machine had been built to resemble a Quetzalcoatlus - a pterosaur with a 40 foot wingspan.

Once the audience has been familiarized with the leaning control system used to fly their time machine, they are launched back in time to the Cretaceous period.

A Herd Of Diplodocus Under A Rock Bridge
While in flight, the audience collectively steers their vessel by leaning left and right in their seats. If they saw any interesting wildlife, the audience could fly the craft near to the animal of interest and take a photograph.

At the conclusion of their journey, the audience gets a chance to review the pictures they had taken during their flight and receive commentary from the museum scientists.
